Fight breaks out after Feyenoord – PSV

A clash between Jeremain Lens and Joris Mathijsen broke out after the match Feyenoord-PSV. The home side won the game with 2-1.

Jeremain Lens waiting for Joris Mathijsen to come inside the catacombs, telling his coach and referee to stay out of it and just move along. After the Dutch defender arrived, the strong PSV striker Lens grapped him by his shirt and accused him of something. This upset several Feyenoord players as Wesley Verhoek pushes Lens away and all hell broke lose.

After pulling and pushing, matters turned around, as everyone calmed down and were moved away from the scene. Both Jeremain Lens and Joris Mathijsen did not want to come in front of the camera. Their coaches did the talking for them. ” We will internally discuss this”, stated Dick Advocaat. ” Lens told me that Mathijsen said something to him during the match, that is all.” The KNVB perform an in-depth analysis about the matter and will come with appropriate measures.
