Marco van Ginkel feels that it is time for a move, after four seasons at Vitesse, the midfielder thinks it’s the appropriate time to move forward and take the next step in his career.
“ I want to become a regular in the Dutch national team.” Says the 20-year-old midfielder. “ And in order to do so, I have to learn how to deal with pressure and play against better opponents.” A move seems to be the perfect solution, whether it’s a domestic move or a foreign move is not clear yet, the midfielder is being linked to several clubs, Ajax being one of the prime candidates. “ Ajax’s players receive a call-up after playing 10 good matches. When you play at Vitesse, this will not happen so quickly. If you play at Ajax, you receive a wildcard, so to speak.”
If Vitesse manages to qualify for the Champions League, Marco van Ginkel could consider staying at Vitesse.
“ I know if you play on a higher level, bigger clubs are more likely to scout and potentially sign you.”
Ajax is not the only club interested in the versatile midfielder. Norwich City have been reportedly eyeing van Ginkel for quite some time now. The Canaries signed Ricky van Wolfswinkel earlier and are reportedly looking to expanding their Dutch enclave.
